I have learned to ...more Throughout my years of practicing art and design I have become very keen to the advances of the design field and design in general. I have learned to think outside the box when needed to. For the past three years I've developed my own style and innovative approach to solving visual communication problems. Once I've understood the task and problem(s) at hand I will research how other artists and designers have solved problems and based off of their solutions I develop and construct my own solution. As well as being arisitic I am also very tech savvy with computers, new technology and devices. I understand when and how to use different formats, devices and software such as file format options and FTP software.   When thinking of ideas to solve certain visual communication problems I begin thinking of the most obvious solution to the problem. Sometimes this may work but I feel the more custom and unique a design is the more attractive and persuasive it could potentially be. I solve visual problems through using the graphic design problem solving method, where once I have understood the problem(s) at hand I do research and collect information together that relate to the problem and possible solutions to successfully solve the task at hand.   Collaboration is a very important part when dealing with art and design. Even though most of the time I am designing by myself while working on projects in school, I know once I go out in the professional world of design, being able to work with others is a very important quality to possess. Ever since is was 16 years old I've consistently held a job always working with a team to fulfill a certain need. I feel a potential employer would view me as a unique individual who is confident, professional and self-motivated to complete projects successfully and in a timely manner.   I would describe my design style as modernized abstraction. I use a lot of shapes, mostly biomorphic shapes to come to a design solution. I would definitely describe myself as an out of the box individual. I feel I bring a lot to the table and understand certain techniques when solving visual communication problems. Whether it is, designing a brochure, poster or complete business package of collateral, I'm always up for the challenge. hide
