She g ...more Anke Staphorst is a freelance graphic designer and photographer based in her home town, Port Elizabeth, on the South East Coast of South Africa. She graduated with a National Diploma (NDip) in Graphic Design in 2013 and successfully completed a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Graphic Design in 2014. She further continued her studies by enrolling for a National Diploma (NDip) in Photography as a second field of study - which she successfully completed in 2015. She received her tertiary education from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth. Over the past couple of years, apart from studying, she has been actively engaged in community theatre in Port Elizabeth. She has been involved both on stage (as actor, singer and dancer) and behind-the-scenes in the role as production designer and photographer. As production designer her duties have included the designing of marketing material (including logo, posters, flyers and online marketing) and capturing behind-the-scenes action during the rehearsal processes. She has recently been elected to serve on the committee of the Port Elizabeth Gilbert & Sullivan Society with the portfolio of PR and Marketing. She is very passionate about community theatre and the development thereof. Anke specialises in performing arts photography and has already built up a portfolio from her experience in theatre. She used her theatre photography work as part of her documentary and elective work for her second and third year in photography at NMMU. Whilst studying at NMMU, Anke participated in seven group exhibitions relating to graphic design and photography. hide
