Logo Design Brief
We need a logo for a soon-to-be launched website called “Get Out To Parks” or “GOT Parks”.
The website is an initiative of the Canadian Parks Council – a body that coordinates all National, Provincial and Territorial parks in Canada. The aim of the site is to provide an online space that is appealing to youth (from teens to young adults) that hosts information about Parks, employment opportunities, volunteer opportunities, events, etc across the country. It will also be a space for mapping, and sharing photos and blogs of personal experiences in the outdoors.
The website itself will have vivid imagery, but maintain a minimalist look. Pictures of landscapes and nature will be featured, but much of the background will be clean lines and earth tones. It will look clean and professional, but accessible to a youth audience.
For the logo, we are looking for something that includes the name “Get Out To Parks”, but that really highlights the shortened version, “GOT Parks”. GOT Parks will be used on social media to promote the site (#gotparks) – as it is shorter and a catchier spin on the old “Got Milk?” promotion. The logo should fit with the look of the website – clean, but youthful/age-appropriate. It should reflect images of nature, the Canadian outdoors, etc.
Additionally, the website will host both English and French content. Visitors will be able to move back and forth between French and English versions of each page. As such, we would like a second, equivalent logo in French. The French name will be “Sortez aux Parcs”. It does not have a shortened version, but the logo should have the same look.
