Brochure Design Brief

Design Brief – 8 Page Brochure

This will be an 8.5 x 5.5 brochure/catalogue with about 8 layout pages, although this may change as the layout progresses.

We are a web-based company selling subscriptions to the education marketplace. This brochure is meant to detail each of the destinations in our “Destination Library” found here: http://www.virtualfieldtrips.org/slideshow

Each of these destinations is like a product in a product catalogue.
I would like to list them with 4 – 5 per page, which will likely end up spread over 6 pages, as there are 30 destinations listed. This may bump up slightly by 1 or 2 over the design phase as we are working on more videos right now.

As the project progresses we will need to add headers to various sections such as Social Studies, Life Science, and Foreign Languages.

For the most part the brochure will be this listing of destinations and the text can be taken from the web pages. I will supply the photos for the actual brochure, but for purposes of design submission you can either use your own access to similar photos, or you can use screen shots of the site’s photos.

Ideally, I would like to use a blue graphic background, either similar to the one attached or feel free to use the one attached.

I would like to have a page that discusses the various benefits of using virtual field trips. You can feel free to take at shot at it from a creative standpoint, or simply use the Benefits as outlined on our benefits page: http://www.virtualfieldtrips.org/benefit.
Ideally this will be toward the beginning, on Page 2. There will be a Title page and a back page. Page 2 will be the Benefits, the rest is a “catalogue” of the destinations.

I am using this brochure for a direct mail campaign and also as literature for trade shows.

The final output needs to be “unflattened” so that last minute changes can take place. Also, whenever possible a vector-based layout is requested.

This project requires a person well versed in graphical layouts, and not so much original content.

Selection Critera:
1. Consistent Branding with Website
2. Professional look
3. Marketing Creativity

3 version of the template that the printing company requires are attached along with the background often used, as well as our logo.

We only require a basic one or two page idea for the layout, as far as choosing the final designer. It is not requested that each designer design the whole brochure.

Thanks in advance!
