Logo Design Brief

We're in need of a company logo for our TV Production company in Asheville, North Carolina, USA, called '83º WEST'. We create TV commercials for travel, tourism, entertainment, and an active outdoor lifestyle.

We'd like to see designs which make smart/witty use of negative space. The name 83º WEST is based on the longitude (geographic coordinates) of the city we live in. Having said that, references to Asheville should only be implied, at best. We want to make use of the degree symbol " º " but in a classy implied way. The design should communicate a contemporary esthetic and have a "slick" "expensive" feel.

We've attached some logos for reference to give a feel for the type of logos we like.
