Logo and Business Card Design Brief

We are looking to redesign the logo for our small real estate management firm based in upstate New York. We own a small office building as well as a small retail space. Our company manages the grounds of the properties as well as the day-to-day business operations of the buildings. Our current colors are standard blue and gold (see our present logo attached). I'd like to see us move to something a bit lighter with a more progressive feel. The logo should be simple, yet clear and powerful. I want our tenants to see something fresh and new.
