Logo Design Brief
Kentish Town Youth Football Club is a youth football team playing in a North London youth football league. Its coaching and playing teams are exceptional, winning multiple league titles this year and its U11 team is in the final of the London FA Youth Cup later this month - one of the most prestigious trophies in junior football. Several of our players have been "poached" by Premiership and Championship clubs in recent months.
To reflect our growing status and the focus in the club on the development of elite footballing we are planning to rebrand as "Kentish Town Football Academy", with a new strip and new badge.
The current badge looks like this http://kentishtownyouthfc.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Kentish-Town-FC-badge3.png - its a terrible clunky design that says nothing about our club (and with no copies of the original design bar a tiny jpg, its been degraded over the years to something that looks terrible)
We'd like something more modern, more distinctive, perhaps more striking in the manner of modern elite European football club logos such as
Juventus http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d2/Juventus_Turin.svg
or Real Madrid http://www.hdimagewallpaper.com/real-madrid-logo-club-12-cool-wallpapers-hd/
or AS Roma (I like this one a lot) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/52/AS_Roma_logo_(2013).svg/791px-AS_Roma_logo_(2013).svg.png

Must have
- We'd like to base our new badge on the history of the area in north London we come from - Kentish Town - and have found a great design that belonged to the Cantaloup family - 11th Century Norman nobles who gave their name to the training ground we use - Cantelowes Park. Its available here: http://i.imgur.com/6gPPxcx.jpg We particularly like the lion/fleur de lys imagery (in fact known as a "leopard's head jessant de lis" https://en.wiki2.org/wiki/Jessant-de-lys ) I have uploaded examples.
- We'd like a design that makes use of some or all of the design elements in the Cantaloup crest above and includes the new name of the organisation "Kentish Town Football Academy" or - alternatively - its initials "KTFA".
Nice to have
- The design would be used on our website (still in development but currently at www.kentishtownyouthfc.org ) and on our football kit (we will probably be using a new kit design for the future, so any logo would need to be capable of being used against a range of colour schemes or with a range of variants which might be capable of being used in different colour ways.
- We'd also like the opportunity to place stars above the badge to reflect cup wins (in the future - not in the final design - it would be great to have the potential to add stars in the future (think Juventus) http://four42.co.uk/images/juventus/juventus-main.png in the event we win the London Cup this year or in the future.
- I like this sort of feel (the latest AS Roma badge) a lot and wonder whether it might provide some interesting design cues - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/52/AS_Roma_logo_(2013).svg/791px-AS_Roma_logo_(2013).svg.png
- Perhaps one or three of the Jessant des Lys along the top and a KTFA script below? Dunno. But the combination of the clean lines and old style graphic is very fresh and interesting.
- A modern flat style design would be nice, rather than something over complicated (see below)
Should not have
- We don't want anything too fussy/old fashioned (such as Manchester City) https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/4c/05/ea/4c05ea71281508d4d88d654802724c1e.jpg
- We don't want cartoony graphics such as this http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Alloa_Athletic-scot.png
