Logo Design Brief

We need a logo designed for our nonprofit agency JOURNEYS, Inc., Child Placement Services. We license, screen and train foster homes and their care of foster youth. We also supervise the homes for safety issues and work well with outside agencies (Dept. Child Welfare Etc) to provide continuity of foster care for children placed in our homes. We have typically gone with a "moon or star" as a focus of a logo - like "wishing upon a star" theme. And the name JOURNEYS, Inc. Child Placement Services signifies the Journeys we all take through life. The current and past colors have been white and purple lettering - kind of cold.. We would like to see 'warmer' more child and adult friendly colors - but somehow stick with the wishing on a star theme? Hopefully the final design should communicate safe foster homes for youth and primarily encourage the recruitment of new foster families?
