Logo Design Brief

We are a very progressive, modern, open and affirming Christian church. We are moving into a new building that will also be used as an event center. We are currently known as First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), or FCC Naples. We will probably use something like THE CURRENT, home of FCC Naples for awhile, but I'd like the logo to simply be THE CURRENT, perhaps with a tagline of "Church and Event Center" or something like that. I'll work out the tagline with my leadership once we start looking at concepts. THE CURRENT should convey our idea that God is not a being, but is ALL being--an energy or force that creates and flows through all things, connecting us together more intimately than we've imagined (or been allowed to imagine by most religions). Connection, energy, cleansing waves are images we'd like the logo to evoke, while also staying clean and modern. It would be nice to have a cool symbol of some sort.
