Logo Design Brief
Maternity Direct will be a new care service for women during the antenatal, intrapartum (giving birth) and postnatal period and for their families living in and around Basildon, Essex UK. It is based on providing a social media platform , for the women (and their families). They will be able to contact a midwife via facebook, twiiter and email. The main advantage for the women is - it will be instantaneous info. The main advantage for the hospital - it will free up more time for the midwives working on the 'front-line' from answering phone calls (which is the way the majority of women make contact at the moment) It will also have a YouTube channel giving help and advise, new videos will be uploaded at a min once per week.

Basildon NHS trust has a logo already- see uploaded file. I don't know if it has any meaning? It would be cool if this could also be incorporated into the new Maternity Direct logo? I would like the colours of the Basildon (BTUH) logo to be used for the new Maternity Direct logo, please.
I am updating this brief because so far none of the logos are really what I want.
I like the mumsnet.com logo. It is fun, individual and eye catching. I dont know if you ever saw the TV program 'Charlies Angels' but its a bit of a spin off from this! Very clever. But anyhow cant copy that one, but you can see the style I like.The logo needs to stand out in peoples facebook and twitter account. So when I post a tweet or facebook something the logo really catches their attention and they know its from Maternity Direct.
