Logo Design Brief

A sand and gravel distributor in Colorado needs a clean and new age logo that is visually interesting and conveys the business with the glance of an eye. It needs to look good one color, white on black, black on white and as full color. Text heavy logos are not ideal but not frowned upon. Think of old school miners with new age machinery. Look up CATerpillar and CAT Front end loader for examples . The logo should have some sort of mining machinery related to sand and gravel separation. They would possibly like the W from the Gunnison, CO. valley mountain incorporated but it's not necessary. attached is a fully incorporated but denied example. Complaints were.... 2d, drawn on a computer, not new age. I need you to simplify this concept into visually interesting and aesthetic design work while conveying the company and it's point immediately though the logo.
