Logo Design Brief
We want to update our current Logo design for our group of three DAILY WEB BASED NEWS PRODUCTS. We are currently creating a new page layout for these three product and the logo shoul work well with this new design. And you can see the new layout here www.murciatoday.com/index1.php
The three products are Murcia Today (www.murciatoday.com) / Valencia Today (valenciatoday.es) and Spanish News Today (www.spanishnewstoday.com)
We consider that we are a serious daily NEWS product and would like a logo that shows this. WE DO NOT WANT TO LOOK LIKE A BLOG. We have 0ver 900,000 readers and see that many of the leading web based news groups all tend to have single colour text bases logos or two tone. We do not mind graphic and text based logos but they must hold the sence of the quality of what we do.
I have loaded our current logos and hope that the design we accept will achieve the quality image we are looking for
We have the TRADE MARK "TM" for Murciatoday and Valenciatoday so this will need to be shown on the new designs

Reason: I have extended this deadline because so many of the design submitted just do not answer the brief set. I have given feed back to all designers in the hope they will look properly at what we would like to achieve

MOST OF THE DESIGNS SUBMITTED ARE BEING REJECTED BECAUSE THEY DO NOT COME CLOSE TO THE BRIEF!
WE DO NOT NEED FANCY ICONS, WE DO NOT NEED BRIGHT COLOURS, WE NEED TO HAVE MORE ATTENTION TO TYPE FACE USED, SINGLE COLOUR OR TWO TONE LOGOS COULD WORK ALSO.
PLEASE SEE www.valenciatoday.es and see the type of play you can do with Colour .BOLD and upper and lower text to create contrasted simplt designs.
OUR BRAND IS the " TODAY" text with three version MURCIA, VALENCIA, SPANISH NEWS. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH CONTRAST BEING GIVEN BETWEEN THE "TODAY" Text and the VERSION TEXT.
Cartoon type LOGOS DO NOT WORK FOR US.
WHY NOT TRY SOME TEXT BASED DESIGNS.

- A design that can be used accross the three products. We want a logo that says quality Daily NEW and does not make us look like a BLOG. We would like the logo to fit the new design layout we are preparing
Nice to have
- Many of the Printed News Paper which are online have straight forward text only or two tone logos that work well. Most of these pages do not have Bloggy or cartoon type types of logos because they want to be taken seriuosly. So do we and I hope this can be achieved. I do not mind a coloured logo but again it just needs to give the sense that we are a well establish Daily News Product

- Cartoon graphics, Wordpress or Blog Logo styles. Too Gimmicky
