Logo Design Brief
Overview
Stacy Korsgaden Insurance and Financial Services (SKIF) is a well established business on the Central Coast of Califorina. Stacy has been working in the field for over 20 years and has never had a “brand” logo (aside from the Farmer’s Insurance branding) associated with her business. Can you believe it!! Stacy and her partner have recently acquired a new building, which will be the future home of SKIF. Stacy recognizes that now is the time properly brand her business.
Objective
To develop a logo for SKIF that communicates to the client, trusted and guided advice by use of a nautical element that plays off the abbreviation of SKIF (which is a little boat). The challenge is to develop a logo that can easily be shared with the Farmer’s Insurance logo, which is required as a Farmer’s agent (see attached logo).
Considerations
Please review attached moodboards for inspiration.
Nautical elements: Boats, waves, lighthouse, sunbeams, compass, anchor
Natural elements; sea and earth tones; plant and flower based derivatives
Lexicon: navigate, trusted, quality, helpful, leader, sound, comfortable, secure, connected, special,
The elements of dark wood, grains, reclaimed wood and steel.
Client loves the colors: chartreuse, yellow tones, hunter green, sea-foam green, avocado green, grey and charcoal tones, warm autumn and earthy tones. Does not care for too much blue (despite the nautical theme).
Think a combination of gritty Irish Pub juxtaposed with French Provincial.
Audience: There are two main audiences the current clientele who are more established, yet simple. Then there are the younger more savvy prospects with whom she is trying to attract. The clients (Stacy and her parter) are both design savvy and classic. In turn, the logo needs to be classic yet edgy.

Reason: Hello Designers! Thank you for all the submission thus far. I want to give you a couple more days to work on the designs, so I've extended the deadline. Please be sure to read the brief. The client does not like the color blue, despite the nautical theme! So please make any changes to any blue designs that have been submitted and resubmit reflecting the colors stated in the brief.
