Logo Design Brief

we are starting a business to sell Chai Masala tea in a concentrate and also a dry tea and spice mix to brew in the pot. We are in the countryside however we are in an upmarket beachside tourist town and want to appeal to the wealthy healthy yoga mums (think Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow etc). It will be organic.The dry mix is black tea based with spices (cardomom, cloves, ginger,pepper, cinnamon, star anise).Our main market is women however we dont want to alienate men by being too feminine.

Target Market(s)

mainly 25-50 health conscious women,yoga enthusiasts, new mothers, travellers, eco friendly.It will be the first of its type so I would like it to 'pop'.

Requirements

Must have

• It would be nice to acknowledge the Indian heritage of Chai if possible. I like clean and bold with strong bright colour. I have attached a pic of Indian pop art to give you an idea.

Nice to have

• I love Indian wood block prints,If there is an attempt to emulate a look, it may be that of a block letterpress print that wasn’t liberally inked.retro birds,cows,tigers ,branches,trees.
  I like orange, white,green ,red ,black, brown, tan,
  I like fonts such as helvetica, century gothic, but am open to anything clean.
  I dont mind 2 different fonts ,but the emphasis needs to be on the chai.
  I love retro,vintage feel,LOVE POP ART,the sun. Indian deities such as Ganesha,Surya or Kali
  happy feel good...a marigold garland or a stack of terracotta chai cups
  I dont mind the same colour in a different shade in the logo or mixing up lower case and upper case in the logo.
  Quirky and fun, circus cartoon style. Artists I like are andrew wellmans work (Buddha series) (Google him if you like :))

Should not have

• nothing too corporate looking,
  no rivers
  no elephants( there is an elephant chai already) ,
  no large piles of spices,
  no curly elaborate fonts,
  no hard to read fonts,
  NO steaming cups,
  no love hearts,
  no women in saris,
  nothing homestyle,
  nothing beachy,
  no temples,
  NO Chinese fonts as we dont want to look like Margaret River Chinese restaurant.
  please focus on the word CHAI not the margaret river Thank you very much for your help..
