Logo Design Brief

We are an elementary school (740 students) in need of a 'go to" logo that can be used year to year. Something that will clearly be recognized so the community will associate it with our school when seen. At this point, we jump from one image to another each year.

We have a crest (see attached picture) that is a very "formal" representation of the school that we use on many publications, but this is just too difficult and not "fun" for t-shirts and other applications. Our mascot is the panther. We would like to incorporate this into the logo somehow (possibly a silhouette). Trying to find a non-threatening panther face/body (that doesn't look silly) is difficult. ALSO, we are 15 minutes away from Clemson University, so using a paw design often looks like we are copying Clemson. Forest Green, Yellow/Gold, and white are our colors. Our local high school and middle school are primarily green and white, so we like to use the gold to set us apart. We would like something that could be printed with these colors AND easily be simplified for 2 color or a single color use (like when buying pens or embroidered products).

• Something that looks good when simplified to a single color. Something that would look good on a t-shirt AND a web page.
