Logo Design Brief
LUCKES is a new super cool and chic superfood/organic cafe, lifestyle store with wellbeing centre - the first of a chain in the UK. We need a really effective logo that encompasses its essence. The aim of the business is to make it easy for the discerning customer to achieve health and happiness - supplying all the elements they need: food (eat in, takeaway, delivery), professional health coaching, high quality natural health product shop & pharmacy, education (meditation/mindful classes, health workshops etc) and fitness classes (yoga/pilates etc) in a stylish, relaxed environment (based in a beautiful old barn with courtyard/fountain/trees).
The first one will be based in West Sussex 1.5 hours from London and will aim to attract wealthy local customers and 'down from London' weekenders.
We do not want anything old school that has already been done to death in the natural health world.
LUCKES aims to create a strong brand image that portrays the marrying of the current demand for health and wellbeing with seriously cool styling (the building, the interior design, product branding, staff clothing, music played etc).
It will have a similar look and feel to the very hip cottonbeachclub.com in Ibiza and Daylesford Cafes (London and Cotswolds) Daylesford.com and will have exactly the same target market as both businesses. We do not like the Cotton Beach Clubs logo though.
We want a similar clean and simple look as the Daylesford logo, although do not like the flowing lines of the word Daylesford. We really love the British SpaceNK logo/brand and shop fitting with its emphasis on simplicity and style. We also quite like the British White Company brand and products. Both also have the same target market we are aiming for.
The book NOURISH mind, body & soul by Amber Rose, Sadie Frost & Holly Davidson will give you a good idea as to what our cafe will serve and some of the activities in the centre. Again the styling of the book has been well designed to appeal to our target market and the authors typical customers...The food served at the Daylesford Cafes is very similar too, although we do not want any sort of farm shop or farm association, think more French chic please (we are huge fans of everything that comes from the store/restaurant /cafe MERCI in Paris.)
The logo will have to work on a wide variety of things from signage on the side of the building, stationary, marketing material (leaflets/postcards etc) and the jackets of the delivery drivers, to packaging for food, toiletries, health products and the paper bags (like American food stores) customers will take their purchases home in. The packaging LUCKES will use will be very similar in colour look and feel to the daylesford packaging they use for their food and toiletries.
Melanie Luckes's medical practice will be part of the wellbeing centre (for more info find her on LinkedIn UK). The logo therefore will need to work across her stationary too and labels on bottles of plant extract formulations that will be dispensed from the pharmacy which will be combined with a shop selling exactly the same products as theorganicpharmacy.com (we think their logo is looking a bit dated).
We do not want bright colours - think more silver, shades of white/cream, black etc as per the brands we have mentioned above.
Once the logo is decided upon we would be interested in working with the same designer on our packaging, stationary, marketing material, staff branded clothing etc.
We look forward to seeing your inspired ideas! Thank you.
