Logo Design Brief

I am redesigning my mobile application which is an app designed for schools. The app allows users to see events, assessments, homework, notes, newsletters, receives messages, policies and more on their mobile device.
The app is called Schoolwiki.
The design needs to be very slick, professional and contemporary. The logo will be used on a website, on stationary and on the screen for mobile applications.
There is no prerequisite or colours that must be used but it must show that its all about community, engagement and news. I am open to all ideas.
Needs to be eye catching and appeal to both parents and high school students.

There is no need in the artwork (image) to link to a school – because the name says ‘school’ already.
Rather come up with an image that suggests ‘engagement’ – or something totally abstract which is better as it will be more useful and flexible down the track

• Wow factor! Slick contemporary and professional - needs to catch the eye of the user - remember this is for a smartphone app so bright colours?
• Monochrome icon - needs to show that we represent communication between school and home

Nice to have

• should show communication between school/parent and student. 3 way communication.

Should not have

• No school books or old communication symbols.
