Web Design Brief

Red Skies Space is a new company which specialises in the development of technologies for the space sector including propulsion systems, cubesat hardware and software, robotics hardware and software, rocket flight computers, miniature manufacturing units for space, scientific measurement equipment for space, guidance and communication systems amongst other more exotic technologies.


Red Skies Limited, its parent company was originally founded to provide software development services with a heavy weighting towards .NET software for the web and desktop with some development services for the embedded sector.
This business is continuing to grow but over recent years the business has taken on more and more specialised projects which are heavily focused on the space sector. To avoid confusion for clients, Red Skies Limited split out any non-software projects into a seperate department which included its own temporary independent website.
However, since all these projects are space related and since Red Skies Limited is going through a rebrand and restructuring exercise, we've decided to formalise the space business more and to run two websites, Red Skies Software which focusses on software and Red Skies Space which focusses on space related projects.

This competition is for a new Red Skies Space website which will focus on space related technologies and projects. A link to the previous temporary technology website can be provided if needed as well as to our current software website.
We may run a follow on competition for the software website if we feel that some re-alignment of brand is needed towards the new space website.
However, this competition is for the space related website and so we don't want the current websites to have too much influence over the new website.
We also plan to run follow on competitions for branded literature etc.
We have attached the new logo which will be edited to say Red Skies Space and will be used for the new website.

The website should convey high tech creative, exciting space technologies, possibly including sats/cubesats, robotic rovers and rockets amongst other things.

Just to clarify, this design is for the space sector website, not the software website.

Should not have

• Should not be a website for a software company but is for the space technology business and should focus more on space technology such as rockets, satellites, robotics/rovers or other space technologies and not boxed software.
