Logo Design Brief

cadena (which means chain) invests in industrial companies - we like to have a stake and to add value at every link in the supply chain. Imagine the logo appearing on the side of trucks, trailers, pick-up trucks, flour sacks, combine harvesters and farming equipment/supplies, ships, and factories. The logo will be used mainly in Africa, and also in SE Asia and Central America. To this end, people with basic skills will need to be able to recreate it in paint, relatively easily (with stencils).

I've lost contact with the designer who made the initial logo, so I need someone to pick up where he left off and make it amazing. I don't have the source files for the multi-colored ones, so those need to be redone. The deliverables for this project will be the multi-colored version, the white-on-black, and one grey-on-white. Before you get creative....

1) The links need to be adjusted ever so slightly - I've circled where two links appear to be closer than the rest. Spacing needs to be uniform throughought

2) I'd like to see 5 multi-colored proofs using the colors (dots) I have attached (trying to get an approximation of the color wheel that is also attached) and also to have some suggestions from you

3) I don't want the colors to be too bright, or too dull - there's an elusive balance somewhere. The logo will mainly be used on white paper, but may also be used on different colored backgrounds, so I want a thin white line to surround the final logo so it can be printed on any colored background and stand out.

It's in keeping with the chain theme, but I'm not wed to it - so if you think something would work better, try it

5) Please play with size, spacing, and thickness of font and positioning relative to the logo. I think a dark grey would look nice for the multicolored logo, but welcome suggestions

6) For each logo (multi-colored, grey, and negative) I want two versions
a) Logo on top, cadena underneath (like attached files)
b) smaller logo either to the left or right of the word cadena (perhaps elevated)

7) I welcome any additional thoughts, ideas, comments, inputs, suggestions and encourage creativity. I think the logo looks great already, but there's always another perspective
