Packaging Design Brief
Design PACKAGING for Honest Gum Ltd.'s Energy gum and other product lines.
Our product is a natural, healthy and 100% green coffee bean chewing gum. People like our product because it makes them feel healthy, energised, smarter (because they don't just chew normal chewing gum). Please note, this is the first product that we will be producing in a product line of functional gums.
Think Vitaminwater, trendy consumer good targeting 24-35 yr olds.
Your primary objective is to design a chewing gum packet that conveys the above.
The PACKAGING Design concept should also lend itself to necessary colour/graphic changes for flavours for having a product line that includes gums that target the following, with names of each product yet to be finalised but examples are included in (brackets).
1. increasing energy/decreasing (Energy)
2. weight management/appetite suppressants (Skinny me)
3. immunity and antioxidants (Defense Plus)
4. Multivitamin for optimal overall health (Essentials)
5. Oral care (fresh breath and cavity protection) (Fresh)
6. Mental performance (Limitless) (think like the movie limitless with Bradley Cooper)
Key text to include: Product name: Honest Gum, Flavour, Multivitamin chewing gum, Formulated by Medical Doctors, chew two, one serving (2 pieces) provides 100% of an adults daily requirement of vitamins and minerals, nutritional supplement.
Key images could also include an example of how much caffeine is in each piece of chewing gum (for the energy chewing gum). Currently, 1 piece equals about half an espresso and there are 8 pieces in a package. We also want to convey a medical/healthy outlook and maybe the caffeine molecule could be incorporated
In the additional files you will find examples of packaging that we would like to emulate.
- From the svelte and vitamin water we like the personableness and attitude that each brand conveys. Especially how they talk to the consumer with plain English by saying things like enjoy yourself or the copywriting that vitamin water puts on its bottles.
- Looking at peppersmiths gum, we like that it is quite plain and easy to understand.
- From Candy kittens we like it for its minimalism, white background and warm bright colours. We dont like how it doesnt convey a natural product.
- From the Sandows again we like how approachable it is in the language that it is using also the layout how it is very
- Previous examples are included as well, one for our vitamin gum and another for Xcell our previous name for the energy gum.
Artwork should be transferable for use on blister packaging, plastic tub, or box packaging format, see pictures. Innovative packaging design ideas are also welcome.
- on the sketches attached see file name IMG_5597 and 5596, these are just example of how we want a clear and minimal packaging that is easily adaptable to different uses.
