Logo Design Brief

Would like someone to refine and improve my amateur drawing of my ranch logo (2 different designs attached) or I would be interested in something entirely new that looks professional. I would like to incorporate lakes or water into my design to represent signature symbol of the ranch (see waves on logo). It is my preference to include prominently displayed letters of HL (stands for Hidden Lakes) with text in the logo that includes Hidden Lakes - Wallace Ranch. Logo for ranch brand will be placed on hats, stationary and outer wear so the logo will need to be readable on approximely a two to three inch circle.
