Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for my vintage amplifier business, Honeyboy Amps (amps for guitar and harmonica). The brief is a script logo using the words Honeyboy Amps. The keyword for style would be ‘1950s vintage’, but other styles could work.

I envisage the word Honeyboy being written like a flourish signature, with a large H, and maybe the remaining letters slanting upwards about 25 degrees, but that’s just my limited imagination – I’m open to other suggestions. It should be a thick bold font style.

The word ‘Amps’ should be in a different letter font to the Honeyboy font, and maybe placed under the slanting signature.

As I produce amplifier products in various colours, I would ideally like 2 versions of the logo in different colour pallets. A cool pallet like chrome, blue, black, and a warm pallet like honey, cream, red-brown. If this is deemed to be 2 designs, then I'll just go for 1 version, and discuss the details with my favourite designer,

The logo needs to translate well to the production of a badge to go on the front of an amplifier. (traditionally top left corner – the slant would work well there).

I don’t actually want any ‘honey’ imagery or references, like bees, as the name is based on my stage name, not bees and honey. If any imagery is to be used, it should be a ‘vacuum tube valve’ as used in the products I make. (Picture attached)
