Logo Design Brief

I would like a simple and modern logo for my new business which will provide genealogical (ie. family history) online research and training.

The business name is: Genie1

The name 'Genie1' is more a reference to the nickname 'Genie' for 'Genealogist', rather than to an Aladdin-type genie, but the logo could include some symbolic or abstract reference to a genie, such as the letter G or G1 somehow made in the shape of a sleek lamp, with a subtle tree branch instead of smoke, or include some symbolic or abstract representation of family members, or family secrets to be discovered in your family tree. I don't particularly want an actual genie or a lamp or smoke or tree, unless it is subtly incorporated into the rest of the design. Or it may be none of the above and just something totally different and clever that you can come up with.

I would like a very modern logo, to counter the old-fashioned impression of boring researchers in libraries, and to attract younger people to the online hobby. The target market is anyone of any age who wants help learning to research genealogy online, or who wants research done for them.

What I like in a logo design:
- clean, modern, sleek, simple, stylish, abstract, conceptual, symbolic
- possibly with a reflection or subtle drop-shadow
- possibly with a glassy finish or 3D-effect
- I prefer a white or very pale grey (or transparent) background
- I prefer warm autumnal colours (eg. golds, yellow, red, brown, black, grey, orange, greens, beige - but not all of them together!)
