Packaging Design Brief
Chic Peas are a delicious, crunchy, healthy snack food. Chic Peas are a yummy snack that packs in the powerful health benefits of whole, dry-roasted chickpeas into deliciously addictive little nuggets of flavor!
There are 3 variants (recipes) and one design is needed with a background colour change or other way to distinguish it for each recipe. I am looking for a fresh, modern and eye-catching look which stands out on a supermarket shelf. I would like the winning bidder to create an eye-catching logo incorporated into the packaging design.
I am trying to determine the best packaging option to sell 70g packages of the product. Please be creative and am happy to consider other options, but want to keep overall packaging cost to about $0.25 per bag. One option is to use 6 cm x 20cm clear cellophane bags filled with 70g of product clear bags and then use labels for the front and back in the first instance before designing full custom packaging. I envision the front label will have the logo and variety and the back will have some of the key health benefits of the product and nutritional information (I do not yet have the nutritional breakdown so for now, need a placeholder). We’ll also our website (www.chicpeas.co.uk) on the packaging.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: I have been asked by several designers for an extension as they did not have time to submit, so am extending the deadline. Hope that is okay with everyone!

Must have
- We have three different flavours of Chic Peas, all of which are packed with loads of flavour and wholesome nutritional goodness:
• Salty Pepper Chic – sea salt and black pepper roasted
• Cinnamon Honey Chic - healthy junk food. These are super crunchy and sweetened with a light coating of cinnamon and honey, making them even more addictive than those junky snacks you can’t pry out of your child’s hands. In fact, with only three wholesome ingredients including the protein packed chickpeas, you’d be hard pressed to find another snack food that’s this good for you.
• Spicy Chic - chilli and lime blend
Each one of these varieties should be branded in a consistent way, which different colors or other distinguishing characteristics.
Chic Peas are a delicious, crunchy, healthy snack food. Chic Peas are a yummy snack that packs in the powerful health benefits of whole, dry-roasted chickpeas into deliciously addictive little nuggets of flavor! Chic Peas are:
• Low in fat
• Naturally gluten-free, diabetic friendly, and promote a healthy heart.
• 100% dairy free and nut free.
• Good source of lean protein, fiber, folic acid, as well as minerals such as iron, copper, zinc and magnesium.
• Low-glycemic and good for diabetics, and vegan. Pretty much they’re good for everyone.
Despite all this goodness, we don’t take ourselves too seriously and want to be viewed as fun and playful, yet healthy. We want to emphasize the simplicity of the product. It is a back to basics, fun treat.
Product branding should emphasize fun, playfulness and simplicity.
