We need a logo for a new centre that aims to promote the acceleration of new technologies in rehabilitation for people with disabilities. We draw together academics, clinicians and industry to develop, test and implement novel technologies in rehabilitation. We would like a logo that represents the coming together of these groups, perhaps something that represents acceleration – helping to speed up product development and implementation. We'd like it to look professional, stand out on a white background. We would like to see designs that use a single colour (plus or minus black and white). We are New Zealand based - if that inspires anyone!
Medical technology development is impeded by a lack of collaboration between end users and technology developers. This is partly due to the length of time and expense required to identify appropriate clinical expertise and challenges recruiting patients. Facilitated engagement with end-users and access to trial populations for fast early-stage validation studies of technologies would significantly address this issue.
The Rehabilitation Innovation Centre (RIC) is a partnership between industry and research
The RIC brings together clinicians, end-users, researchers and industry stakeholders to identify common aims for the development of rehabilitation technology to promote a strong, vibrant rehabilitation technology industry and the health and well-being of people experiencing disability. The RIC accelerates the development, commercial uptake and implementation of rehabilitation technologies. This is achieved by working collaboratively across sectors and institutions to bring a unique blend of scientific, design and clinical skills and expertise to each project.
Our purpose is to promote common aims for the development rehabilitation technologies, to facilitate collaborations between industry, end-users and researchers and to accelerate the development, commercial uptake and implementation of rehabilitation and assistive technologies.
We need to appeal to rehabilitation technology developers/industry. We need to look as if we will assist with the development of their technologies into clinical practice/healthcare. We also need to appear trustworthy (we are!) so that people are comfortable discussing commercially sensitive information with us.

Requirements
Must have
- Text can be serif, sans serif or decorative. A simple and cohesive design that would translate easily as a future website logo, letterhead etc
- it should be able to be used on powerpoint presentations at academic/industry conferences and still look super fabulous projected onto a large screen.
Nice to have
- A single colour plus black/white.
Should not have
- Too much visual complexity. Complex font that is difficult to read.
