Logo Design Brief
We need a logo designed for a new record label, UnPractice Records. The label is being created initially for the release of an album by the a cappella group Street Corner Symphony, and it is directly tied to Street Corner Symphony's members, ideas and image.
Street Corner Symphony is a rather laid-back group of six guys that has somewhat of an image of "fitting like an old pair of jeans" and being bad boys, but ones who are loved by parents and kids alike.
"UnPractice" is the concept introduced by the group while on season two of NBC's The Sing-Off in which the group gets together to spend time together, have some drinks, and have a good time making music. It is practice, but practice that is simply coincidental to the main purpose: enjoying life and music together.
We have one idea that we particularly like for a logo, namely a martini glass with a musical note (likely an eighth or sixteenth note) placed in the glass as if it were the olive in a martini. Relaxed, but classy. However, we are open to original ideas and possibilities in addition to different interpretations of our idea. We would like it to be something that can be used both with "UnPractice Records" in text and on its own.
The final design should communicate professionalism and cleanliness, but not in either overly dry and corporate *or* overly exaggerated and carefree ways. Something that can appeal to Street Corner's fans (who range from young children to grandparents) is the name of the game.
