Logo Design Brief
Gyrofish is an e-commerce store with a funky fresh and quirky feel that specialises in selling innovative products.
The site name was picked purely because it is unusual and memorable but given it has “fish” in it and we will be “trawling” the world/internet for innovative products, we thought about possibly incorporating the “trawling” or “fishing” concept into the site’s theme. This is not mandatory, purely an idea.
The Gyrofish concept is the synergy of a fish + gyrocopter.
Although we have come up with a concept design (attached below), the project is open to interpretation and we would like to allow creative freedom for it to be completely different, or similar to our attached mockup. We have played around with colours and seem to be liking the green, orange, yellow combination, but again, we are open to suggestion.
We like the idea of being able to incorporate a personified fish character into our identity, but realise that it doesn’t necessarily need to be a detailed illustration in order to carry out the theme. Mightyape.com.au use a character ape throughout their site, but only use an outline of the character in the logo. A detailed illustration may initially look better but an outline or silhouette is likely to be more reusable when printing the logo on different mediums. We are happy to consider logos that incorporate both options
