Illustration Design Brief
I have been teaching primary age children for 35 years and written a great deal of material for all year levels and am in the process of attempting to have some of it published.
I would like to have three A-4 size illustrations [colour] to accompany the piece titled Alfresco[see text below]. If it was to be published in a book format more would be required.
ALFRESCO
Alfresco was loved by everyone.
His mother loved him.
His father loved him.
His six brothers loved him.
His three sisters loved him.
All his uncles, aunties and cousins loved him.
His friends loved him.
All the people in the town loved him.
They loved him
not just because he was tall and handsome.
They loved him
not just because he had a fine moustache.
They loved him
not just because he could sing sweet songs.
They loved him
not just because he had a grand villa in the valley.
They loved him most of all
because he was the greatest pasta maker the town of Lasagne had ever known.
Why his spirals were spectacular.
His hoop shapes were hoopla-hey!
His alfabeto pasta was beyond words.
His angel’s hair pasta was heavenly.
His twisted pasta danced on the plate.
The shells he made were pasta pearls.
While those jumbo shells with grooves made all the moves.
His cockscomb pieces were something to crow about.
Magnificent pastas lovingly curled
and swirled
and twirled.
Soft satisfying pillows stuffed with delight.
Memorable menus.
Cappelletti.
Bigoli.
Bucatini.
Fagiolini rigati.
Fettaccine.
Grattoni.
Italiana.
Maccheroni.
Messinesi.
Pizzoccheri.
Such fine pastas.
Such magnificent pastas.
His Uncle Piombi was so proud of his nephew.
He talked about Alfresco’s pasta with such feeling.
“Three cheese for Alfresco,” he would shout.
“Three cheeses for Alfresco!”
“Hip Hip Asino!”
“Hip Hip Bormino!”
“Hip Hip Pecorino!”
Long live Alfresco!!
Long live his pastas!
Long live Alfresco!
LONG LIVE ALFRESC0 CREATORE DELLA PASTA!
