Logo Design Brief
This logo is a Christmas present for my young adult son. He has struggled finding a logo on his start up budget. So this is the perfect solution!
He is starting a promotional apparel business featuring original artwork by various young artists. His business is called "Pressed Art". A lot of the business will come from fundraising projects by non profits, churches etc. He will also focus on small business promotional items and local tourist items. He would like simple colours in a design that could be done in black only or white only as well. Design should be simple but creative. He liked a logo we seen with icons in simple boxes. Icon suggestions would be a tshirt, track pants, baseball cap, knit cap, hoody. He also likes simple designs featuring a tshirt. He had an idea of possibly using a snail as an image and as part of the name. The name idea was dropped but he might like to see it as part of the logo still... maybe a snail pressing a tshirt like it is ironing it with its body. Something a little silly or fun along those lines might work.
He also leaned towards two different fonts with the word "art" standing out a bit and the word "pressed" being more on the simple side. He liked the Lion King font that had the line on the top of the middle lowercase letters between The uppercase P & D at the front & end. He thought it lent to the "pressed" symbolism. So something in that fashion would be a good start. He did not like any graffiti fonts or anything too curly for the "art" but he did like passive calligraphy fonts that had a dropped/trailing letter T and were straight and clear lines versus overly rounded. He also prefers the fonts to not be cursive. Something that is creative without shouting feminine.
I will start the project but he will pick the design. Please help him find a logo that he will love and be proud to hand out on business cards and order sheets.
Updates
The Christmas present has been officially unwrapped by my son! He likes several designs but after some thoughtful considerations a few designs have been eliminated and several feedbacks have been sent. More thought has gone into the colour scheme. Though a few B/W logos are very eye catching a colourful option is still on his list of wants. He has chosen a gold and green colour scheme. Black or white could still be used as well. Also eliminated was one icon image I had picked that he did not like.. the toque/knit hat. He prefers a more modern/mature knit cap and not the pom pom toque of his Canadian childhood :-/ Added Friday, December 25, 2015
