Logo Design Brief
I am a portrait baby, child, family and art portrait photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. I work on my own and travel to people's homes and other locations and set up my mini studio on location. I make my own props and costumes for the use of my clients, to ensure my portraits are unique and reflect the person's character. I process all of my images, giving individual attention to each one, making them special and beautiful images. I would like my logo to reflect my individuality and not look like other photographer's logos. I don't want any childish elements to the design, but am looking for a sophisticated, stylish and unique logo. I would like the logo to be either all in black on white or have only small elements of colour used. I would like to image to work well on a business card and on a banner size as well, so please keep this in mind with choice of fonts and other design elements.

Project Deadline Extended Reason: I am extending the deadline for my logo design because I haven't yet found the right design. There are some designs that have great potential, and I hope the designers take the time to make changed and resubmit their work. I also hope to attract more designers with fresh ideas, as I find some designs are becoming too conservative and predictable. Please read the brief carefully and remember these important points:1. My name 'Melisa Savickas' needs to be EASY TO READ but in a modern script. 2. The word 'PHOTOGRAPHER' must be in capital letters in a sans serif font, underneath the name and any other designs.3. I am happy to have a SYMBOL designed and would prefer a CIRCULAR shape.4. Do NOT use any pictures of cameras, aperture, babies, rattles and so on. 5. Do NOT just pick a font and type out my name and then PHOTOGRAPHER - I can do this myself and don't need a designer's skills to make a logo of this type. I need my logo to be personal and made especially for me. I thank everyone who has submitted work for this competition and encourage those with positive comments to submit fresh ideas. Mainly females aged 28-50, from middle to upper middle class backgrounds, living in the Northern, North-Eastern and Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Most of my target market would be either expectant new parents, or parents of small children. Some clients would be adult children, organising family portraits for a special occasion.

Must have
- My name - "Melisa Savickas" must be easily recognisable, rather than difficult to read. My name is not common, so the font design must be legible. The word "PHOTOGRAPHER" needs to be written in capital letters with spaces in between each letter to spread it out. The logo must be on a WHITE background.
- NOTE: I have included 2 example of fonts I like in the way they are used together.I would like to have an individually created font (made in Illustrator or similar) that may be along these lines. I am including this to inspire you.
Nice to have
- I would like to see some designs that are highly creative and individual, unlike the most common types of logos for photographers. I would be happy to see some fine illustrations included in the design, keeping in mind that the logo needs to be equally clear at a small size (eg. on a business card) as well as online and at larger sizes.
Should not have
- My logo must not include any images of babies/children/people or references to baby toys or similar items. I do not want a logo that looks 'cute' or 'pretty' as my photography work is very individualised for each client and needs to reflect the personal nature of the work, rather than looking like a 'factory' portrait business. I am the only person in my business and that's how I like it.
