Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for Artists & Composers Collaborative, Inc., which is an artist-driven, classical music 501(c)(3) ​non-profit founded in 2013 that seeks to better understand the world through musical collaborations and commissions. Our organization seeks to play a leadership role in commissioning interdisciplinary projects fueled by artist's shared musical ideas.

The logo should be usable both in horizontal and vertical layouts. We plan to use it periodically with additional text, including the full organization name and its artistic director, Jennifer Koh. We desire a clean design that scales well both in larger and smaller applications, whether print or online. The logo should be usable both in full color for web use, and in black and white for inexpensive printed flyers or letterhead.

The logo text - "arco Collaborative" - is both a contraction of the organization's name (ARtists & COmposers Collaborative), and a reference one of its major purposes. The term "arco" is also used as music notation ("arco" - which instructs violinists to resume normal bowing after playing pizzicato). In musical scores, the word arco normally appears all lower case. For our logo, it should either be all lower case or all caps.
