Icon Design Brief

We need a redesign of the 37 toolbar icons in our free and open-source software for spatial data analysis, GeoDa, which is used by almost 150,000 analysts worldwide (https://geodacenter.asu.edu/software). The current icons are over 10 years old and reflect an old Windows 3.x design. We would like to have them redesigned with a more modern, abstract, iPhone-style look and feel. Attached is a file with the old icons and descriptions of their functionality (+ examples in some cases). Of the 37 icons, 30 need basically the current design modernized and 7 need a new design. Final icon size should be 32x32 pixels (max scale would be 128x128). We need to be able to distribute the icons as part of the software's open-source GPL license.
