Marinephos is a recently established trading company of a range of organic fertilizer products in Indonesia.

The products are available in two forms:
Marinephos (a powder natural phosphate) and
Duofos (a granual natural phosphate)

They are derived from dicalcium phosphate layers, built up over centuries and comprising the remains of coral, sea birds and their droppings, eggs, shells, fish and seaweed. A 100% natural fertilizer and excellent soil conditioner, Marinephos has a P2O5 content of over 20%, has a high calcium and magnesium content as calcium oxide (over 45%) and contains trace elements of aluminium oxide and iron oxide; the product has a very low cadmium level (less than 10 mg) and also contains a very low levels of other heavy, dangerous metals (such as lead, arsenic and mercury). The phosphorus content has both quick and slow release elements and is primarily citric acid soluble, rather than water soluble, ensuring greater phosphorus availability throughout the growing period and helping to produce a better metabolism of nitrate in plants. The high calcium content enhances the abilities of plants to deal with disease and stress and helps to ensure that the plant has stronger cell walls, enhancing the flavour of the crop, producing more upright stems and open leaves, improving photosynthesis and ensuring greater resistance to fungus and mould attack. As it is an organic fertilizer, as well as providing phosphate and essential micronutrients, Marinephos acts as a soil conditioner; it adds organic matter and improves the water and nutrient retention qualities of the soil, reduces soil degradation, rebalances soil acidity and helps to provide an ideal environment in which beneficial micro-organisms can flourish.

The product is well established in local markets; output commenced in the early 1980s. Currently, the producer has mining rights to around 100.000.000 million tonnes of product. Production capacity currently totals 150,000 tpa but is scheduled to rise to 500,000 tpa in 2010; hence the interest of Marinephos in spreading the word about its products to a wider audience.
