Logo Design Brief
The Montagnard Project is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping the local Montagnard community (Vietnamese refugees) adapt to the US through tutoring, mentoring, English as a second language, education assistance, and related refugee support. The Montagnard people lived in the mountains of Vietnam and due to their religious beliefs were alienated by the government. Many have escaped to the US and are in need of support - especially in terms of education for young adults and children.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: I am working with a Board of Directors for this non-profit who want to decide on final design. A couple are out of town for next week so I am extending the project until the following week when everyone is back and we can get together and vote on final design. Also , changing from REFUNDABLE to COMMIT FUNDS as the BoD has agreed that we will use DesignCrowd to create our design.

- Focus on educational symbolism - tutoring, mentoring, ESL (English as a Second Language), leadership, etc
Focus on inspiration without strong overtones of religion
Focus on community, becoming contributing members of society, self-sufficency
Nice to have
- Some discussion from previous design effort: I like the stylized mountain thing with maybe the sun popping up over it. I was thinking also maybe it might work (or maybe not) to use the M in Montagnard as the mountains and/or the P in Project as the sun coming over the mountains - might be cheezy though. Also, thinking that maybe at the base of the mountain are some education symbols, tutoring symbols, English as second language etc symbolizing that as the people migrate out of the mountains - they are infused with education and knowledge - just some previous thought but none of this is required. Including two other designs as idea generators - one incomplete (mountains), the other too modern (down helping hand that looks like an elephant which is key symbol on Montagnard flag) but good font

- Religious elements - don't want to alienate potential donors that might not relate to religious components of the Project.
