Label Design Brief

Di-Corp manufactures Drillers Edge Drill Bits for the Mineral Exploration and Geotechnical & Environmental Drilling Industries. We are currently going through a re-brand project for our diamond drill bits and will be looking for box and sticker designs.

For the first phase of the project (this brief) we are looking for a creative label with three variations to put on the bits that reflects a higher level of graphic design then our current bit label (see attached image - file 2). We are open to design ideas and concepts of all types.

We would encourage designers to use beer labels as inspiration for the shape, design and style of the labels, while still incorporating our corporate colors if possible. We are really drawn towards metallic color ranges and would like this incorporated as well.

Corporate Colors: Pantone 368c and Pantone 424c (see attached style guide - file 10). These can be made metallic if appropriate with the design.

The second phase of the project will consist of creating a box design with similar styling as the labels (we will post another brief for this) for the bits. The bits will be packaged in these boxes before being sent to customers.

The third phase of the project will consist of creating stickers to include with the bits for drillers to put on hard hats, trucks, etc. (once again we will post another brief for this project). We would want the stickers to have a similar style and feel to the bit labels/box but incorporate graphic images of things like reapers and slayers (see example t-shirt design for inspiration - file 11).

Please keep phase two and three of this project in mind when creating the label for the bits.

Size of the label should be no larger than 3.5 in x 2 in (L x H). Label needs to be scalable to suite various bit sizes but use the measurements given as a guide.

Drillers Profile
Predominantly male, aged 20-50. Often enjoy outdoor recreation such as hiking, fishing, quad-ding, camping and usually purchase brands including; Under Armour, Blundtstone, Carhartt and Browning.

Drillers often promote the brands they buy on the back of their pick-up trucks, on their hard hats and drill shacks.

• The design should have three variations depending on the bit type. We want the same style just slightly different for Abrasive and Endurance. For a good example of this please see Hero 7 and Hero 7 Abrasive documents attached (file 6 & 8).
