Logo Design Brief
CheckPoint Organisation Ltd is a not-for profit organisation which acts to connect the fields of mental health with technology and video game development. We provide education and tangible resources to healthcare facilities and games industry organisations, promoting positive mental health and the progression of knowledge around these issues.
We need a logo to encapsulate our values. Something to show that we are genuine and benevolent, that CheckPoint is a safe space; but also communicating our fun side - to represent the gaming aspect.
Our name has a dual meaning. In video games, a checkpoint is a point in the game where you can save your progress and keep coming back to in order to progress. In the health industry, the word checkpoint might represent a check-in, or a check-up. A place to monitor your own wellbeing and that of others. By combining these meanings into our name, we aim for it to communicate our key values and missions.
Logo ideas:
Flag, flagpole (Like the checkpoint in Super Mario Brothers)
Custom lettering logo
Two people - representing the two arms of the org - Video Games & Mental Health
Light - light is often used to represent checkpoints, to light the way, it’s ‘safe’ here
Circular shape
Colours we are keen on include muted blue/teal, orange

Requirements
Must have
- Imagery symbolic of the dual meaning we provide - games and mental health
- We like slightly muted and complementary colours
Nice to have
- We have been toying around with the idea of a flag such as the one in Mario Bros, and other images which represent game checkpoints / savepoints / autosave features.
Should not have
- Colour palettes:
- Anything too overall pastel (too cute / unofficial. Doesn't feel professional or trustworthy in terms of medical setting) Muting tones is fine but we would like the primary tones to remain vibrant
- Anything too corporate looking
- Anything with too many vibrant colours (and no relaxing white space)
- Avoid colors with strong negative connotations - red (anger), pink powder shades, purple and black (communicate sophistication, high class - might feel excluding)
