Logo Design Brief

we need a logo for a B2B sales app. the name is 'Eugene Applications'. i would like to have a minimalist logo focusing on the Eugene part of the name. (something that can easily go on letterheads, email signature, business cards). so whether its an EA design (Euguene Applications) or EU... im really open to creative ideas on this one...

just so you can get an idea of what i want, im marketing Eugene as a quirky, nerdy character... so if it can have a personal touch that would be great. i also require a 'mascot'... i have attached a picture of what i mean by this... whether its a nerdy face, nerdy character, nerdy/quirky/hipster looking cat etc.

the final design needs to communicate a product that not only communicates professionalism, but through the use of a friendly mascot (google search compare the meerkat for an idea of what i mean by this) a fun and contemporary design.
