Logo Design Brief

We need to position our business as relevant and adaptive to a digital world despite an essentially analogue product offering. Our suburb demographic is 50% plus 'managerial' and 'professional' and over 50% 25-44 yo. I'd like a minimalist logo which incorporates 'Elwood News' in a sans serif typeface against a geometric background symbolising paper. - as in our core product of stationery, cards and magazines. While there is much goodwill toward our industry, despite its decline, I don't want to use newspapers as a reference as these are in terminal decline and I don't want that association.
So I see a minimalist logo relying on our name and basic rectangles, Helvetica is a reference although an alternate accessible modern font is would be great. I see colours as predominantly black and white with a splash of colour (or not).

• Minimalist logo with sans serif font on black background using geometric shapes suggestive of paper but not newspapers. White font with flouro a possibility to add highlight (either text or other composition)

Nice to have

• Minimalist logo with sans serif font predominantly black and white with potential flouro (single colour). Should evoke an understated 'cool' Use of rectangular box shap or shapes

Should not have

• References to newspapers or Times New Roman style fonts
