Logo Design Brief

We need a new logo for our travel basketball club (West Michigan Crush). We have been around for 6 years and work with youth in grades 2-12. We offer various programs including highly competitive travel/AAU teams, less competitive teams, camps and development programs. We would like a design that incorporates our team colors ("Michigan State" green and white). The final design will need to something that we can use on uniforms, t-shirts and other gear, letterhead and on the web.

We have included an example of our logo (hand drawn by one of our coaches five years ago). This original logo worked great for us years ago when we worked primarily with 3-5th graders but it doesn't work well now and it doesn't necessarily look professional especially on a uniform or other gear.

Additionally, we included an example of a recent T-shirt that included a different design from a local sports printing store (this design includes the store's logo embedded in the script and will not work for us other than on this specific shirt. However it did get favorable feedback from our players).

Requirements

Must have

• The final design must not look like a 'stock' logo that all athletic clothing providers will provide. It should be custom for us.
• The logo must have "Michigan State" green in it. http://brand.msu.edu/design-visual/index.html#color

Should not have

• Stars. We are not looking to do an updated version of our old logo. We would like something new.
• The logo doesn't necessarily need a basketball in it.
