Logo Design Brief
Project Name:
I’m looking to get a logo to represent a self-publishing coaching and training program called “Self-Publishing 1-2-3”.
The tag line for the program and the site is “Step-By-Step Training and Personal Coaching to Help Get Your Book out of Your Head and Into the Hands of Your Waiting Avid Readers”.
The program is based around a 6-step process shown in the attached image named “6 Steps for Self-SP.png”.
What makes this program unique is it will provide coaching and training through small coaching groups of a minimum of 4 and no more than 8 participants in any coaching group.
Also attached is a PDF export from Balsamiq showing the 5 most unique webpage wireframes for the site to give you an idea of how content for the program will be presented and organized to the site users and presented on different devices with varying screen sizes.
What we're looking for specifically is a logo design that captures the idea that this is a step-by-step, personal small group coaching to help someone self-publish their first book along with the concepts and emotional end benefits described below.
Our market research tells us that the Features and Emotional Benefits Authors Want in Self-Publishing Coaching Program are:
1. “A Step-by-Step Process” that gives them the Emotional End Benefits of:
• Feeling Safe
• Associated Colors: Green #008000, White #ffffff, Navy #000080
• Being Productive
• Associated Colors: Green #008000, Blue #0000ff, Lime #00ff00
• Feeling Creative
• Associated Colors: Fuchsia #ff00ff, Lime #00ff00, Yellow #ffff00
• Feeling Peaceful - Relaxed – Calm
• Associated Colors: White #ffffff, Aqua #00ffff, Teal #008080, Green #008000
2. “One Reliable, Honest and Expert Source For Everything” that gives them the Emotional End Benefits of:
• Feeling Safe
• Associated Colors: Green #008000, White #ffffff, Navy #000080
• Feeling Financially Secure
• Associated Colors: Navy #000080, Green #008000, Blue #0000ff
• Feeling Peaceful - Relaxed – Calm
• Associated Colors: White #ffffff, Aqua #00ffff, Teal #008080, Green #008000
• A Sense of Belonging
• Associated Colors: Light Browns - sorry don’t have exact hex colors for you for this one but I would guess BurlyWood #DEB887 through Chocolate #D2691E
And the top 3 Emotional End Benefits authors get from publishing a book are:
1. Feeling Respected
• Associated Colors: Red #ff0000, Purple #800080
2. Sense of Accomplishment
• Associated Colors: Gold #FFD700, Red #ff0000, Purple #800080
• Related to this Success
• Associated Colors: Green #008000, Red #ff0000, Yellow #ffff00
3. Feeling Creative
• Associated Colors: Fuchsia #ff00ff, Lime #00ff00, Yellow #ffff00
Obviously you do not need to use every exact color sited above. This is just to give you an idea of kinds of emotions we want to evoke with the site and logo colors and the above colors are what we believe will be best associated with those emotions.
We have also found that green was the most often picked color associated with the personality of the coach for this course and green is highly represented with several of the emotions above, so a green color will be the prominent color for the website. Probably a color in the range from “DarkSeaGreen” to “DarkGreen”.
DarkSeaGreen HEX: 8F BC 8F
MediumAquamarine HEX: 66 CD AA
MediumSeaGreen HEX: 3C B3 71
SeaGreen HEX: 2E 8B 57
ForestGreen HEX: 22 8B 22
Green HEX: 00 80 00
DarkGreen HEX: 00 64 00
We also know that prospective clients will see their coach as a “Wizard / Sage” or alchemist who heroically guides the author to self-publish and become a conqueror themselves. This makes the coach their Hero and Guide.
And the expected target audience for will be females ages 45+ (most about age 55) who see themselves as “a Butterfly or Cinderella” because they transform through the process of self-publishing. And they become “Conquerors” through the accomplishment of self-publishing their books which makes them “Movie Stars” for the recognition they will receive for their conquest and transformation.
We do not want a design that overtly uses these Archetypes (Wizard, Sage, Hero, Guide, Butterfly, Cinderella, Conqueror or Movie Star”) but rather we are looking for a design that subtlety suggests these things about the coach and clients through a step-by-step personal process.
Thank you for consideration of this project and we look forward to seeing your creative designs!
We are also running a separate contest for the web design for this site and encourage you to submit to that contest as well.
