Logo Design Brief
We need a logo for a startup webpage that will list child friendly activities in Brisbane. The types of activities it will list are: playgrounds, pools, libraries, fetes & markets, sporting activities, playgroups, theme parks.
The site lists activities for babies to high school students (i.e. the logo needs to appeal to both toddlers and 16 year olds), however, the main target audience is Mothers as I expect that they will use the website on behalf of their children.
The banner of the webpage is a blue sky wtih a few whispy clouds and there will be grass down the bottom with some cute kids playing. So the logo needs to go well on a blue sky background, but also look good on plain white backgrounds.
The logo should be fresh, outdoorsy and it could be a little cute. The business is based in Queensland. Our competitors use a bird and a rainbow, so I want to exclude these two images.
The main words on the logo should be kidstodo.com.au, then the tag line is "Things to do with kids in Brisbane and on the Coast". The tag line should be optional i.e. in some instances, I'd like to remove it.
Updates
I'm after something a bit more fun, to make it more fun it might mean that the age group it's appealing to drops a little bit - i.e. if it suits 3 to 10 year olds that would even be ok.
I'm after a picture with the logo, not just a funky font. Fun/cute rather than 'teenager' too. If fun means that it ends up slightly more feminine that ok (as it needs to appeal to Mothers more than anyone else!)... it just can't be 100% girly.
After spending some time googling, here's some ideas that I liked:
- two kids in a hot air baloon made of little balloons or 3 balloons (i.e. not a real hot air balloon) - showing kids imagination... or made out of a big love heart balloon.
- a bee flying through the sky (e.g. busy bee, busy kids idea).
- A child flying through the sky suspended by a single helium balloon.
