Logo Design Brief

I am looking at branding a line of products that we sell in our company with a modern, upmarket logo. Simplicity is key. We are a specialty grocery company sourcing products from all over the world, but predominantly Latin America, then we distribute to local wholesalers who then sell to retailers. Therefore the end consumer does not necessarily see our brand, our target market is the wholesaler. As we have a strong reputation for quality products and good customer service, established in 1991, I want the wholesaler to look at our logo / branding and get the impression that we are solid and reliable. I like the idea of a seal or seal of approval, black and white, for elegance, possibly also silver, it could appear raised or 3D. In the future it could lead to additional branding / logos for other lines for example "Best Spices", "Best Asian Foods" etc., also our corporate name is simply "Best Foods" (we have no current logo) so I could also look at a design for that in the future.
