I’m looking for a book cover design for my PhD thesis in mathematical logic. The title of the thesis is: Nonstandard Provability for Peano Arithmetic. A Modal Perspective.
Peano Arithmetic (PA) is a sort of an "agent" that can reason about natural numbers (0, 1, 2, 3, etc). Many facts about the numbers which are known to us, however, are not known to PA. So: what PA *thinks* is reality is different from the actual reality - so it is like in the Matrix (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Matrix).
In my thesis, I use modal logic (that's why the "modal perspective") to investigate this Matrix that PA lives in.
My vision for the cover: a falling pattern (something like this: http://kurld.com/image.php?pic=/images/wallpapers/matrix-wallpaper/matrix-wallpaper-16.jpg), but:
1. I would want boxes and triangles to be the falling symbols (how they look like can be seen here:http://paulahenk.net/poster.pdf )
2. Different colors. So the connection to the Matrix image should not be so obvious, and also I would want it to look more elegant.
One vision I have: golden symbols on white. But I am open to other suggestions. And it could also be nice for the pattern to change colors. (Below are some colors I like)
The cover should list the title, as well as my name (Paula Henk). The back of the book will not contain text or a photo (but the design should extend to the back). The paper size of the cover is B5 format (170x240 mm).
