Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for my surfboard company. We make high quality handmade surfboards. My boards Tend to go in the direction of retro shapes with modern hull designs. The logo should work in black and white and color because a black and white version will be glassed on each board. I am located in Houston, Texas. Some reference to Texas would be fine but I do not want it to be the center of attention.
