Book Cover Design Brief

Book cover. Paperback, 5.25” x 8” book cover, 172 pages, White paper, CreateSpace template – attached. (CreateSpace names the template as 180 pages)

This book puts the history of New Orleans into easy sections for persons to learn who are preparing to take the test for the City of New Orleans Professional Tour Guide License. It is required of all tour guides in the city. The attached text for the back cover gives a more complete synopsis of the content.

This Study Guide is a resource for persons seeking a tour guide license. We would like the cover to reflect the professionalism required for test preparation and carry a subtle connection to the creativity of the author as a storyteller and entertainer in the city of New Orleans.

An idea we have had for the front cover would have a background of stylized map of the famed French Quarter in the lower half of the cover. Possibly a fan shaped perspective view. The central focus of the French Quarter, and the city, is St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square as seen in these maps and images. https://goo.gl/lpoH4B Maps old and new - https://goo.gl/jrhQKs. A map is not a requirement for cover. Creativity is.

Attached is CreateSpace/Amazon template, text for front and back cover and two photographs of the author for you to choose from. Both need photoshopping to remove persons behind or next Mr Norris.
