Logo Design Brief

We are looking for a logo for our small farm (which will include a farm store/tasting room and farm tours) located on the Hamakua Coast of Hawai'i Island (Big Island), which is a very tropical wet climate (No palm trees!). The focus should be on our house (see attached photographs) because we want tourists to see our logo somewhere and then recognize us as they drive up to our farm for a tour. We grow some varieties of native Hawaiian produce (such as sugar cane, chili peppers, taro, avocados) as well as white pineapple, vanilla orchids, cacao, honey, coffee. In our on-site farm store, we will sell "value-added" products (e.g., coffee, jams, honey, soap, vanilla, covered macadamia nuts) from our farm as well as other Big Island farms. We are not organic certified, but we do farm using organic standards. We live in a lush, tropical area (lots of ginger flowers, anthuriums) where rainbows and waterfalls prevail all year round, and our property is on prior sugar cane land, so the two old homes on the property as well as all of our farm structures use the same "Hawaiian plantation" style and colors: green building, red roof, white trim. This logo will be used on labels, t-shirts, mugs, etc., so it needs to be catchy, but not too extravagant to the point that it's too expensive/elaborate to embroider/print onto logo wear. We are open to ANY design, color, etc., but preference for a logo that tells the viewer that without a doubt this is in Hawaii. Requirements

Must have

• The focus of the logo should be our house, which is a traditional Hawaiian plantation house that has a red roof and green exterior...with or without white trim. Please see the photographs of our house, and I've included a painting I found of a traditional plantation home that looks similar to ours. But please do not use that painting...It is not ours to use. Also include the name "Kahi Ola Mau" as one name and on the same line of text.

Nice to have

• Would be nice to have some sort of Hawaii theme, something that leads the viewer to believe that the farm is in Hawaii, but we don't want to limit ourselves. We have a lot of rainbows here, so perhaps a rainbow in the background? A faded rainbow? Please consider that this will be in print on shirts, coffee mugs, product labels (such as honey, chocolate, coffee), etc. COLOR PREFERENCE: DARK RED, DARK GREEN.

Should not have

• No palm trees, coconut palm trees, or Hibiscus flowers please. Please NO HIBISCUS.
