Logo Design Brief
Hi everyone,
I'm starting my own mechanical engineering consulting business - Caliber Mechanical Design. We will deal with mostly Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing design for new and existing buildings as well as "green" (LEED) consulting. I don't have any particular color requirements at this point, though I do like blues, yellows, and/or grey/silver. One big use of the new logo will be when it shows up on building plans, which are not printed in color, so keep in mind that the logo has to look okay as grey-scale when printed through AutoCAD, too. Plumbing tends to be the smaller portion of my business, so emphasis on the HVAC side is probably better. I live in California, so most people tend to think of the air conditioning aspect more than the heating, too. I'm okay with just the use of the letter "C" in the logo, or the full initials "CMD" in some way. A logo that indicates some air movement would be okay, or even some interesting use of a gear cog or fan blade. There is an obvious option to go with given the name "Caliber", but I would prefer to stay away from any likenesses to firearms to avoid offending any clients that may be anti-gun. I'm fairly open to whatever you guys can come up with at this point otherwise! I look forward to seeing the designs!

Thank you to everyone that submitted a design! I was really impressed with the options available to me in such a short time. The quality of the logos already presented and the need to get my business moving on to the next stages have led me to select my new logo and end this challenge early. For those that I did not select, please know that your efforts were very much appreciated nonetheless.
