Web Design Brief
We need a web design for Australia's most prestigious architecture and design event.
Background
• Australia’s leading design & architecture event
• Established over 20 years ago
• 2011 event in Melbourne with 2012 planned for Sydney
• In decline over recent years & looking to reengage with target audience
• Competing events held in close proximity segments the market
Pros/Cons of the current website - designex.info
Cons
• the home page is difficult to navigate. It is unclear what is show related and what isn’t.
• Difficult to find information about the show – why visit, what’s at the show
• Home page looks odd on larger screens – large white panels down the left and right side
• Visually unappealing, the industry have given quite negative feedback about the site.
• Content pages are too copy heavy and the space allowed for text is quite narrow. The side menu on the left, the copy and the image on the right all compete with each other for space.
Pro
• show dates and times are clear
• When registrations are open, the button is clear and obvious (not currently there as reg isn’t open)
• Large images on the home page

Requirements
Must have
- • Clean, simple, easy to navigate homepage (images will need to play a part in making it inspiring and relevant, something similar to aogexpo.com.au homepage)
• Clear "Register Free Now" and "Book a Stand" Call to actions
• Data capture is important when registrations aren’t open – IE sign up for the newsletter or sign up for information here
• Floating CSS bar (either at top or bottom) with call to actions and social media share buttons. See this page for reference (scroll down the page see the effect at the top I'm talking about) http://thenextweb.com/apple/2011/12/15/apple-rolling-out-itunes-match-in-uk-for-2199-aus-for-39-99-and-across-europe-for-e-2499/.
• The design should be clean, simple, modern
• Imagery can be used to keep it fresh
I would like to see designs for a content page as well as the homepage.
