Logo Design Brief
We have a new association that promotes Gestalt therapy in China, and facilitates connection with Gestalt practitioners in Australia.
The association accredites training courses in China, and will run conferences in China, inviting Australian therapists to participate.
We need a logo that befits an association.
It needs to look official.
We will stamp it on certification that is issued by training bodies, so it needs to work as an academic stamp as well on degrees.
It **has to** have a minimum of three elements:
1. The full title:
China Australia Gestalt Association
2. The title in Chinese:
中澳完形协会
3. The initials:
CAGA
We looked at one proto design that made the first 'A' a panda, and the 'G' a kangaroo. Thats one design idea.
It mostly needs to work in Black and White, but it would be good to have some basic and simple colours in there.
So the design needs to communicate authority, also inferred by the linking of the two countries.

This logo will be used for:
1. The website we will build for the association
2. Emblem for advertising that courses are 'CAGA accredited'.
3. On membership certificates
4. On academic awards for the attainment of levels of certification from CAGA approved courses.
5. As a header for conferences run by CAGA

The acronym: CAGA
The words: China Australia Gestalt Association
The Chinese letters: 中澳完形协会
In the end, we are preferring a circle, like a stamp - that will be used on official certificates, etc. We have moved away from the cartoon idea, and want something that is official looking and elegant.
You could also consider the possibilities with Gestalt - which is about perception of figure ground, there are certainly some things you could play with in that regards.

Nice to have
- One use of the design is for Wexin platform, advertising courses. So that works better as a round design, like a big stamp.
- Another use is for certificates.
- Several designers have played with the Panda bear/ Kangaroo themes. Some of these look ok, though of course its hard to incorporate them in a way which makes it look like a professional logo - stylised.
- Probably the best way to do the design will be in a circle - eg with:
- -China Australia Gestalt Association
- curved around the top,
- -中澳完形协会
- curved around the bottom
- - and the initials/logo/graphic in the centre
