Logo Design Brief

We need a new logo for our business - Central Sewing Machines Inc.. We have been in business for over 54 years and are one of the largest retailers of sewing, quilting and embroidery machines in Canada. We sell locally 6 major brands of machines (and notions/add-ons) as well as distribute long-arm quilting machines and industrial sewing machines across western Canada
The Logo should encompass, business cards, vehicle graphics, bulding graphics (window film), website (centralsewing.com). it should be colourful, fun, perhaps reference machine sewing or thread in some way. it can reflect traditional values but must not be too "crafty" (our machines are mostly not inexpensive - think BMW/Audi moreso than Ford or Volkswagon).
it should incorporate the addresses of our two locations in one form as well as presenting well in either a horizontal or block format.
I have attached the oldest version of our current logo, if I attach any more than that the site locks up so if you want to see a more current version see our website.

Target Market(s)

Primarily Women from 35 to 110 years old, higher disposable income, oriented towards high end hobbies or side occupations.

Must have

• Colour, but not "too" pinky or feminine

Nice to have

• Could be fun, playful or more distinguished, not to a Rolls Royce extent but perhaps to echo an Apple or Audi presentation.

Should not have

• Must not be too "craftly", our market is upscale, we do not want to diminish the brand by making it look "kitchsy" or "cute"
